About

Hi, I market K-beauty for a living.

I'm a cosmetics marketer in Seoul. For the past 5 years I've worked on K-beauty launches, pricing and the promotions that put products on Olive Young's shelves.

My dream? To work at Sephora one day and help bring Korean beauty to shelves around the world. Until then, this blog is where I share what I know.

Working in the industry means I see the parts of K-beauty that shoppers usually don't: why a product suddenly goes 1+1, what a formula change on the label really means, and which "sales" are actually good deals.

What you'll find here

  • Sale Calendar — when Olive Young and other Korean beauty sales happen, and what really gets discounted.
  • Price Check — Seoul store prices compared with buying online abroad, checked on a stated date.
  • Ingredients Explained — what's in the bottle, in plain English.
  • Behind the Shelf — how the Korean beauty industry works, from the inside.

How I write

  • I never share confidential company information, and I don't review or recommend products from brands I work on.
  • Prices and sale dates are checked against official sources and dated, because they change often.
  • Cosmetics are not medicine. I explain what ingredients are used for, not medical effects. See a dermatologist for skin conditions.
  • Some links may be affiliate links. They never change what I recommend. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
